Infants
Wee Angels is for infants 6 weeks to 6 months. This room is equipped with developmentally appropriate toys for your little one, and the caring staff create a calm, safe, loving environment for these babies.
Baby Doves is designed for older babies who have begun crawling, as an inviting classroom to explore the safe, fun, and educational toys that the space has to offer. The space is very open and has plenty of areas where the children can crawl and pull up safely.
1-Year-Olds
Little Lambs is a perfect environment for toddlers who are mobile and ready to explore. Children in this room enjoy a simple Bible lesson, music, and activities, with loving staff to guide them.
2-Year-Olds
The Rainbow and Sun groups are for our 2-year-olds. Their learning experience includes a Bible lesson, music and rhythm instruments, and activities. Loving leaders guide this class of energetic learners.
3-Year-Olds
The Moon group is for our 3-year-olds. They begin the Sunday School year with a special Milestone celebration to receive a children’s Bible and learn through developmentally appropriate lessons and activities with an emphasis on exploration.
4-Year-Olds
The Faith group is for our 4-year-olds. Their Milestone helps them explore the worship experience, and they are also welcomed to Young Children and Worship, a special learning time structured just for children ages 4-6 (not yet in 1st grade) during both worship services.
5 & 6-Year-Olds
The Love and Grace groups are for our 5-year-olds and our pre-1st grade 6-year-olds. Their Milestone centers around sharing and caring for others, as they begin to understand God’s creation and our responsibility in caring for it. They have a diverse group of visitors to their Sunday School group throughout the year.
The 5-year-olds may continue in Young Children and Worship, a special learning time structured just for ages 4-6 (not yet in 1st grade) during both worship services.
1st Grade
FPC 1st graders dive deep into Sunday School through Bible lessons with dedicated leaders. They explore the sacrament of baptism in their Milestone. First grade is they year we start encouraging families to focus on service opportunities through Serving Together, as they begin to connect stories of Jesus with acts of worship and service. Children 1st-3rd Grade also have an evening Retreat together to build friendships and faith. 1st graders also have the opportunity to serve in worship as Baptism Helpers, pouring the water into the font for all of our Baptisms.
2nd Grade
Our 2nd graders and their leaders create caring communities in Sunday School. Their Milestone celebration helps them explore the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper together with their families. They serve with joy in Serving Together mission opportunities and also have the opportunity to serve in worship as Baptism Helpers, pouring the water into the font for all of our Baptisms. Children 1st-3rd Grade also have an evening Retreat together to build friendships and faith.
3rd Grade
FPC 3rd graders explore the Bible more deeply in Sunday School, and their Milestone includes the gift of a student Bible. They take up mission through Serving Together with energy and love and also have the opportunity to serve in worship as Bible Bearer, processing into worship with the choir and pastors, and carrying the Bible to the lectern. Children 1st-3rd Grade also have an evening Retreat together to build friendships and faith.
4th Grade
4th graders begin the journey to Confirmation with an in-depth study of the Old Testament in Sunday School. Their Milestone includes a half-day retreat exploring faith and service, and they begin to take on more of a leadership role in their mission work for Serving Together. Our 4th-6th graders can also serve in worship as a Baptism Buddy for a baby who is being baptized. Buddies assist with the Baptism by reading Scripture and offering a prayer.
5th Grade
FPC 5th graders continue their Confirmation journey with a full-day retreat celebrating their Milestone. Their Sunday School experience focuses on a study of the New Testament, and they have many opportunities for family mission and service through Serving Together. Our 4th-6th graders can also serve in worship as a Baptism Buddy for a baby who is being baptized. Buddies assist with the Baptism by reading Scripture and offering a prayer.
6th Grade
6th graders reach the pinnacle of their Confirmation journey with in-depth exploration of belief, worship, prayer, and other Christian practices in Sunday School and small groups. Many events mark the Milestones of this year, including a weekend retreat and service opportunities. We celebrate with these young people as they grow as disciples and members of the church community. Our 4th-6th graders can also serve in worship as a Baptism Buddy for a baby who is being baptized. Buddies assist with the Baptism by reading Scripture and offering a prayer.
