Nursery Care for Our Youngest (3 and younger)

At First Presbyterian Church we welcome new babies (6 weeks or older) into our Nursery throughout the year!   We have two rooms set aside for infant care, our Wee Angels and Baby Doves.   Babies who are at least 6 weeks old are welcomed and cared for by our loving Nursery Staff, while parents can enjoy worship and Sunday School classes each Sunday morning.

Our one-year old toddlers are in the Little Lambs group, two’s are in the Rainbow group, and three’s are in the Moon group. A reminder that placement is determined by age as for August 15, 2019.  And we do not age-up our children until Kick-Off 2020.   We believe it is important for children to build relationships their care providers and other children in their group.

Nursery Care is available during the 8:30 worship service in the Sanctuary, 9:45 to coincide with Sunday School (for all ages),  and both the 11:00 worship services, Sanctuary and The Table in the Gathering Place.

Visit the Children’s Welcome Desk for a warm welcome.   We use a computerized check-in system and the children are cared for in secured space; safety is a top priority.

Entering the Children’s Secure Space

Arriving in the building for the 8:30 start to the morning:  for those families who will be checking in a child 3 and younger

You will be met outside the secured space by Leanne or Val.  They will assist you in checking in all your children for the morning.  You can check-in older children who will attend Young Children & Worship or Sunday School at this point, too.  You will receive a name tag to place on your Nursery-aged child, a bag tag, and a pick-up receipt (very important).  You can then enter the space and drop your young child into Nursery Care.

When you return to retrieve your child (either after 8:30 worship or after Sunday School), you will need to show the pick-up receipt in order to enter the secured space.   You will turn the receipt in at your child’s room.   While our loving nursery staff works hard to know every child, this receipt ensures that if we have substitutes, we will be reuniting children to the correct adult.

Arriving in the building for the 9:45 start of Sunday School:

You will be able to check-in  your family outside the secured space.   Young children will receive their name tags, etc.   At 9:40, the doors to the secured space will open and you can escort your child to the proper room.   This provides ample time for families who were present for the 8:30 service to retrieve their child and exit the space.   Again you will have the opportunity to check-in for the remainder of the morning, i.e., Sunday School and 11:00 worship.

Arriving in the building for the 11:00 start to the morning:  for those families who will be checking in a child 3 and younger

You will be able to check-in your family outside the secured space.   Young children will receive their name tags, etc.   At 10:50, the doors to the secured space will open and you can escort your child to the proper room.   This provides ample time for families who were present for the earlier programs to retrieve their child and exit the space.   You can check-in older children who will attend Young Children & Worship at this point, too.  You will receive a name tag to place on your Nursery-aged child, a bag tag, and a pick-up receipt (very important).  You can then enter the space and drop your young child into Nursery Care.

When you return to retrieve your child (after 11:00 worship), you will need to show the pick-up receipt in order to enter the secured space.   You will turn the receipt in at your child’s room.   While our loving nursery staff works hard to know every child, this receipt ensures that if we have substitutes, we will be reuniting children to the correct adult.

We understand that life with a little one is filled with surprises that often interrupt the best laid plans. Each ME Morning is unique so if you miss one, there is nothing to “catch up on.” Moms are encouraged to attend when they can.  Register here.
